  1. It has always seemed like something that someone from another country moving here might be searching for – the American dream was something they imagined changing their life for the better. Someone who’s grown up here on “American soil” and has never been in need will not really understand the concept of the “American dream.”

    • Absolutely – that is probably the most positive interpretation of it. A lot of my friends from my restaurant life came here because of the American Dream.
